Masking fluid and inks

Its the first time I've used masking fluid, i always dismissed it as unnecessary as i could always cut a mask out of a stamp if i wanted to mask something out, but it has a much better use than that.
After seeing a link on split coast stampers about using masking fluid i wanted to give it a go too.
The results were amazing i love the different layers of colours achieved, and the thrill of rubbing away the masking fluid to see what patterns you finished with.

Ive used a mix of chalk ins, adirondacks and distress inks, the wooden embellishments on the nature card are by kars available from Papermaze, they are raw wood ready for you to finish as you wish, i have used acrylic paints. Sue Jimson if your seeing this, ive got some for you too :)

The white hearts on the Love card and the faux stitching on the nature card were achieved by using a Tim holtz white distress pen.

I know i will be using this technique a lot in the future, i just need to invest in some large fauna and flora stamps.

Vintage LOTV

Another gorgeous LOTV card today, i made this while hubby was watching the football so i didnt feel guilty that i wasnt sat keeping him company. There is so much distressing on this card that it gives it a vintage feel and the colours ive used adds to the vintage theme.

Ive coloured the image in with promarkers and cut it out with a nestie then distressed the edges with walnut stain. the papers ive used are MME again all the edges are distressed with walnut stain. Ive framed the image with lots of wild orchid crafts flowers and the ribbons were from a seller on facebook. Ive added time holtz tags and a butterfly cut from the cricut , a string of pearls finishes the butterfly. ive also added a string od clear beads around the image to complete the frame. Everything is finished off with edges smothered in gold stickles.
Im going to have a mooch around the net and see what challenges this will fit.
im entering this into Passion for promarkers - Cut it out, ive used a die cut butterfly

Big butterflies

I've got another tilda Easter card to share with you today, isn't she cute.
I've coloured her with pro markers and I've lightly sponged the background with stamping' up ink and yellow chalk ink.
The flowers are by wild orchid crafts as it the pearl trim, the gorgeous big ribbon is from a seller I found on Facebook can you believe she had an offer on so it worked put at 15p a metre.
The papers I've used are from the first edition spring drop pad. Now on to that gorgeous big butterfly it's made from feathers and came in a pack of 9 from home bargains (a UK shop) they were cheap as chips so think I will try and get some more.
I will come back later and link it to some challenges, I know there are a lot of Easter themed ones this week
Magnolia down under - Easter inspired
Just Magnolia - springtime
simon says stamp - anything goes
i love promarkers - bead it
cute card thursday - easter
addicted to stamps - spring

On to a very sad note, the reason I haven't posted everyday is because my uncle is gravely I'll, I mentioned in one of my earlier posts about him having a very long operation well he has never recovered from it and we got the very sad news last week that he only has days left so I've been spending all spare available time at the hospital and comforting family, so I apologise in advance if my posts get few are far between in the next week or so.
