VIVA LAS VEGAS

Sorry to bore you with the same stamp but it is my absolute favourite. This time it was used for a couple who are to be married in Las Vegas, ive gone with vintage style again with muted peaches and pinks, rafia and ribbons with added bronze corner embellishment and love birds charm. Ive coloured the lili of the valley image with distress inks, the card started off white as i wanted a white wedding dress so ive also distressed all the background to enhance the white dress.

Onto family things, my little cherub went out trick or treating tonight with his cousins and i took photos but still had the camera set up for my cards so they all came out blurry, Silly mummy moment! i blame my tiredness and lack of sleep, its been all work work work. I did have Monday off but that was a busy day too as i strated my Christmas shopping and came home tired and laden down with goodies.

Time to Spook

Its been so much fun doing this card as we don’t always have reason to do Halloween themed projects, I do have lots of Halloween stash but there lies the problem I still have it which implies I don’t use it!

I started with the SplodgeAway clock mask and taped it to some easy ink card, I added ink using walnut stain, spiced marmalade and blacksoot, i then used a gold sparkle embossing powder on the middle section of the clock, this gave it a very subtle shine, then I mixed some mica with a little water and used a paintbrush to flick it onto the card, this added more sparkle and dimension. This card was then matted onto some ghostly patterned paper and ribbon added, then it was onto the focal point.

I had searched pinterest (which I do daily!) and came across these Halloween images (I will try to find the link and post later), I knew they would be perfect for this card, I printed them onto easy ink card and cut them and arranged them onto my card and then flicked more mica mix onto it. To finish I added the clock hands and gem, and the words Time to spook (this was cut on the cricut, as was the skull and cross bones)

Ive cheated with Fizzy Moon!

Oh boy what can i say..........ive become a lick and stick girl. Thats what i call pre made decoupage ready made craft kits, i never thought i would see the day that i would make cards like this.
It started because of my darling hubby, he went to our local shops and whilst there he called into Wilkinsons, he was browsing through the christmas stuff and his eye caught some craft stuff he picked up  the cute fizzy moon decoupage pad and he bought it for me as he thought they were so cute and i could make my christmas cards with it. It was so nice of him to think of me and my hobby that i didnt have the heart to tell him its not really my thing, so whilst i was on a day off work today i set about making some cards with them, i added lots of patterned papers, embossing folders, stickles, a few stamps,  ink, and embellishments to try and make them my own, at least i know i will get all my cards made as i made these 4 in just about 1 hour, in fact i know my youngest son Sam will join me in making a few as they are so simple to do.

So there you go thats my big admission IVE CHEATED!

Sweet Little Princess

A lovely precious moments image is the perfect answer for a little girls card, ive made this for a friend, the brief was much pinkness and lots of sparkle, it had to look really girly and i think i acheived it.
Ive coloured the image with promarkers and distress inks, the papers are first edition, the crown is cut from the cricut, the added bling comes from the use of lots of diamond stickles.

I also used that ingigo blu tree again last night as it really does take only minutes to make a wonderful card, i inked it with flitter glu then rubbed over with the flitter flakes a bit of matting and layering and a few snowflakes cut on the cricut, i also stamped some snowflakes in white, then i added the computer generated sentiment, a light dusting of stickles and there you have a lovely card in about 20 minutes.

Ive still got poorly children and ive got my fingers crossed that they dont pass it on to me as i dont have the time to be poorly, not yet any way!

Giddy up!

My friend asked me to make her a card for her Daughters birthday, and her daughter Kate is fanatical about horses so when she approached me about making a card she asked could i put a photo of Kate on a horse on the front, i said "easy peasy"!
I got the photo off her today and set straight away at making it as she needs it for tomorrow, nothing lime last minute!
They have bought Kate this horse for her birthday so its extra special to have it on the card.
Lots of embellishments and stickles on this one, echo park papers, Tim holtz tickets, wild orchid crafts flowers.

Now onto non crafting stuff, I'm feeling sorry for myself as Ive had dental work today and had to have 3 needles on both sides of my mouth so im walking around feeling and looking like Wallace of Wallace an Gromit, ive also got two of my children home from school poorly with colds, throat and ear infections. so apart from lots of TLC for everyone, theres not much else for me to do than tuck myself away in my craft room and work through some of the orders ive accumulated.

Baby's first Christmas

Ive had a quite a few card orders come in lately, so set about working through them and first on my list was for baby's first christmas. I used one of the mo manning images and added more shade and highlights with plenty more sparkle. In the middle of the snowflakes ive added red dew drops,  i punched a bauble out of green glitter card and added the little bells to a piece of rafia.
The greeting is computer generated, i decorated the inside and added the verse, the lady who i made it for loved it and really chuckled at the verse.

vintage wedding

Oh its been such a long time since i used this stamp and indeed its been such a long time too since ive indulged in such a fancy card.
I seemed to spend most of my crafting time designing for splodgeaway, and because their masks are so detailed you dont need to use an awful lot of embelishments on your cards, but now ive given up my design team position its back to very pretty over embellished cards, its was great letting myself go adding more and more to this card.
The stamp is lili of the valley, coloured with distress inks, lots of flowers from wild orchid crafts the papers are October Afternoon, lots of diamond stickles have been added for a little bling. All the blending on the papers were acheived using the amazing SplodgeAway mat.

The distress inks ive used are:
waethered wood. black soot, broken china, walnut stain, tattered rose, fired brick and mowed lawn.

Simple notice board

Here is a notice board i made really simply, it took no time at all.
I had originally made this for the SplodgeAway blog, i have however since stepped down from the design team and it wasn't scheduled to be shown so there is no harm in showing it here.
My kids are always asking mam whats for tea, whats for dinner etc, so i made this kitchen menu board to go in the kitchen so i could write the meals on.

I bout a chap photo frame from Wilkinson's, i painted the frame white and then i used a splodgeaway mask and burnt umber acrylic to sponge over the top, i then very gently gave it a sand to give it a little distressed look, i took the back off and added decorative papers and stickers, the cool thing about this is you can change the papers to go with the season, i have used nice autumnal colours at the minute but come Christmas i will change them again.
You need a white board pen or chalk marker to write on the glass then each day simply wipe away and start again.
You can make a larger version for a general notice board/shopping list or to do list.

Same stamp, different colour way

Can you tell i really like this stamp ive used it on 2 consecutive cards, this time ive used sheffield steel flitter flakes, i used a brayer tecnique for the background the stamped over it with flitter glue before adding the flitter flakes, i then added the snowman from a Splodgeaway mask this was then added to mirror card and then navy blue card stock, i added ribbon and snowflake buttons, the sentiment is polka doodles, of course i then added a touch of diamond stickles. All of the items used on this card are available from Suzicraft.

Birthday's in Autumn

I decided to make an Autumn themed birthday cad for my sister, it was her birthday last week but she was on holiday so ready for her return was this lovely card (well i think its lovely)
I used indigo blue stamp, fliterglu and morris dance flakes, i added the colour the the card with the shaving brushes i bought from wilkinsons, the leaves were cut from the cricut.
Sorry about the quality of the picture but the lighting was not good.

PUMPKIN SOUP

The theme on the SplodgeAway blog at the moment is Great British bake off, we had to make something that also incorporated a recepie so as its Autumn and the colder weather is setting in i made a card representing Pumpkin soup.
The pumpkin was cut on the cricut and the vine is a SplodgeAway mask, lots of blending of inks using the SplodgeAway mat.

Cute Christmas with Mo Manning

I'm about to embark on my marathon Christmas card making session, and ive still got many left to make so when i saw some gorgeous mo manning images at Harrogate i knew they would help speed my process along.
I dont normally go for pre coloured images but i knew i could add to them and make them my own, i added a little more colour, white highlights and lots of stickles. Not having to colour them speeded up my card making i now know i will probably get all my cards done this side of christmas instead of next christmas!

I just had to share this with you, i picked it up from home bargains and it only cost 1.69, its begining to look a lot like Christmas in my house!

Anniversary with Lilli of the Valley

I love this Lilli of the valley stamp and always tend to use it for weddings/anniversary cards because it is so classy, and suits any age frame.
This time the occassion was a golden wedding anniversary. I coloured with distress inks, using my splodgeAway mat as a paint palette., the papers are MME and lots of pearls and stickles were added.

Ive been crafting tonight and have made a couple of quick christmas cards using some Mo Manning images but ill wait till tomorrow to show you them.

SplodgeAway and Indigo Blu combination

Whilst at Harrogate i purchased some of the Idigo Blue mega flakes (morris Dance),  i wanted to try using them in conjuction with SpaldgeAway masks, my fist attempt was lovely i used them on Kraft card but the Mask is a new design and is not released yet so ill have to leave that one for another day. Last night i tried again this time using a current mask, can you beleive the peice of card i covered started of as white linnen card.
First of all i secured the mask to the card and applied the flitter glue, then carfully removing the mask i applied the mega flakes (remember to wash the mask ASAP) the next step was to splodge on some dylusion inks after a few moments i soaked up the excess ink with kitchen roll then using versafine ink i randomly stamped a backgound, i then took a black promarker and coloured over the card avoiding the flittered pattern. I added the white zentangle pattern with a white posca pen. i then also flittered the aztec christmas tree and matted everything in co-ordinating colours. Making this was such messy fun, give it a go with your masks.

Shop till you drop

As promised here are pics of the stash i bought whilst at Harrogate, i swear next year im taking a tote on wheels as i wish i had bought lots more card packs as the prices were unbelievable but unfortunatly my hands and arms protested.
I bought bits and bobs, i was on the look out for pan pastels and knew oyster stamps stock them online at a great price, non of the other prices came close so will order them.I didnt have a shopping list i just bought things that caught my eye but always keeping an eye on the cost to make sure i couldnt get it cheaper from my own local craft shop.
I dropped by to see my online friend Monica who hosted the Stampin' Up stand it was great to eventually meet face to face, we discussed a few business queries i had and im pleased to say i will shortly be able to offer Stampin Up products should any one want them.
Today i took my daughter clothes shopping and whilst out on my travels i picked up a few crafty products from Wilkinsons, ribbons and rafia from the christmas isle and also i got some shaving brushes to use with inks, i saw my friend Jayne using them the other day, and knew i need them and at only 60p each i jusdt had to , i will buy more one for each distress colour.

Ive still yet to find a home for it in my craft space.
