Ive just indulged in a lovely weekend away to York with my Hubby and another 2 couples. We were there to celebrate my hubby's birthday. After the torrential rain we encounted whilst travelling we were dreading the thought of having to dodge the rain, but we need not of worried as the sun shone for us all weekend. Friday we were able to sit in the beer gardens and on the waterfront, Saturday we sat in the town square enjoying Latte and scones, and we indulged in a little shopping i treated myself to some products from L'occitane and Cath Kidston. Great fun was had by all.
We went to a gorgeous chinese on the Friday night it wasnt for the faint hearted as the menu was a real mix of traditional dishes, it was hard for me to find something plain and easy to eat, as i dont do adventrous and exotic. martin on the other had is so he chose frogs legs in black bean sauce and he really enjoyed it even though he had a lot of bones to contend with as the phtographic proof shows, he made it all the more funny when he started to hop out of the restaurant.
We just had to take a photo of the storm trooper who was posing for photos as my youngest son is mad on starwars, he was so impressed when we showed it to him.
Martin was so sweet carrying/wheeling my case to the car even though it was all girlie.
A rare picture of me and martin together
We took a detour on the way home to a gorgeous fish and chip restaurant on the A64 called Thompsons, it was well worth the detour as they are the best fish and chips on the planet.
It was lovely to get away if only for a couple of days, it refreshed the body and mind, forget all worries and woes. Then back home with a bang! back to work and reality.
Now on to craft related business if you pop on over to SplodgeAway there is a design team call out
